We Grind Every Slab Before The First Coat
Grinding is the step that keeps a coating stuck to concrete. A diamond grinder opens the pores of the slab so the resin can grab hold. Acid wash only cleans the surface, which is why so many kit floors peel.
We grind every floor we coat, from a single car garage to a plant floor. Then we vacuum the dust and repair the slab before any coating goes on.
We Plan Each Job Around Lethbridge Weather
Lethbridge weather changes fast. A chinook can bring a warm afternoon in January, and a cold front can drop the temperature again by night. A surface thermometer goes on the slab before any coat, and a heater goes in if the reading is low.
Wind is the other thing we plan around. The doors stay closed while the coating sets, because blowing dust on a wet floor leaves a rough finish.
We Match The System To The Job
A house garage, a farm shop and a potato plant all need different floors. Garages usually get flake with a clear polyaspartic top. Shops get a thicker build with grit. Plants with hot washdown get urethane cement.
At the slab check, we ask what parks, drives or spills on the floor. Then we write up the system that fits.
Every Quote Is In Writing
Each quote sets out the coating system, how many coats, the flake blend or colour, each repair and the total. Should grinding uncover something new, like a buried crack, you hear about it and approve it before we carry on.
You also get a simple care sheet when the job is done.
We Keep The Dust Down And Clean Up After
Grinding a slab for epoxy flooring makes fine dust, so our grinders run with industrial vacuums attached, and we tape plastic over doorways into the house. Old coating, empty pails and packaging leave with us. When we finish, the garage or shop is swept and the driveway is clear.
We Answer Questions After The Job
New epoxy flooring raises questions in its first winter, such as how to clean salt film or what to do about a deep gouge. Phone us and we will walk you through it. Small chips can usually be touched up, and a worn top layer can be recoated years later without starting over.
We Work With Builders And Property Managers
Builders finishing new homes and property managers looking after rental garages or strip mall units can book epoxy flooring for several addresses at once. We can coat units between tenants and schedule around move in dates, and one written quote can cover the whole list.
Each unit still gets its own slab check, because two garages in the same row can be very different underneath.
Farm Country Floors Are Part Of The Job
A good share of our calendar is outside city limits. Quonset shops near Picture Butte, machine sheds off Highway 3 toward Coaldale and potato storage near Raymond all have slabs that work hard. Many were poured decades ago and have settled, cracked or soaked up years of oil.
We bring our own generator when a yard has limited power, and we plan the job around seeding, spraying and harvest. Most farm customers book for late fall or the dead of winter, once the equipment is tucked away.
